Some things to remember when playing When the Levee Breaks: 1, wear the
slide on the fourth finger. 2, The tuning is, from 6-1, E, A, C, F, A, C.
3, It`s played on a twelve string, but can be played on a six, and now to
get on with it.
When the Levee Breaks
(Page/Plant/Jones/Bonham/Minnie)
Half-time drum intro: Guitar 1, 12 sring electric:
————-0–0———-3–0–0——–
————-3–3———-3–0–0——–
–3p0–0–0–4–4–3p0–0–3–0–0–5–5–
–3p0–0–0–5–5–3p0–0———–5–5–
——————————————
——————————————
Кеер on repeating that riff a bunch of times until the slide part enters:
–6/8–8–8–8–8–8/10–10–10–10———–0–5–3—–0–
–6/8–8–8–8–8–8/10–10–10–10———–3–5–3—–3–

–6/8–8–8–8–8–8/10–10–10–10–5–3–5–0–5–3–5–0–
————————————————————–
————————————————————–
After the "It`s got what it takes to make a mountain man leave his home
oh well oh well oh well" line, and the slide that is shown above comes
this:
12 string
—–12–12–7–7–7–5–5–5–7–10–12–
—–12–12–7–7–7–5–5–5–7–10–12–
–7–12–12–0–7–7–0–5–5–7–0—0—
–7–12–12–0–7–7–0–5–5–7–0—0—
——————————————
——————————————
After that another slide guitar enters (six string with regular tuning
[EADGBe], with a bit of fuzz or distortion):
–1210——12~–75—-7~———5–7–10–12~~~~
———12————8—–87/5——————

The first opening riff is played pretty much throughout the entire song,
besides the other parts that I put here, so have fun with it.
Note: This song really only sounds the best if played in a band because
of the big time drums and hermonica, not to mention the multiple guitar
parts. Any questions, e-mail me at [email protected].
